KISSlifelong manager Doc McGhee he says he doesn’t know if ace frehley Y Peter Criss will participate in the final concert of the iconic group.
KISS launched its farewell tour in January 2019, but was forced to put it on hold in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“End of the road” It was originally scheduled to conclude on July 17, 2021 in New York City, but has since been extended to at least early 2023. The walk was announced in September 2018 following a KISS performance of the band’s classic song Detroit Rock City in “America’s Got Talent”.
in the months after KISS Announced “End of the road”fans openly wondered if the original members Frehley (guitar) and Criss (drums) would be involved in the tour, especially considering the apparent recent goodwill between paul stanley Y Gene Simmons Y Ace. FrehleyThe last totally original album of “Astronaut” – a title suggested by Simmons himself: features two songs the pair wrote together, and the duo completed a joint summer 2018 tour of Australia, after which they Frehley fired his solo band and hired Simmons‘s.
In a new interview with VWMusic, McGhee he was asked if Frehley Y Pedro will have some share in KISSfinal concert of . He replied, “Honestly, I don’t know. You can invite them, but they may not come. They may come, they may not come, and we may not invite them. We have talked to them and we have talked about it. Well, we don’t talk.” with Pedrobut we talk to Ace. We have not talked Pedro in a long time. But you know something? They were part of it, they helped start this band, and they should be part of the end of it. They started this, so they should somehow be able to share that spotlight on their way out. Now, regardless of whether it happens or not, you’re not going to have six guys in makeup. That’s not going to happen.”
McGhee previously talked about what KISS‘s final concert could resemble a question and answer session in the ninth edition “Kiss Kruise” in November 2019.
“We want to include everyone who played with KISS to celebrate 45 years of KISS“, he said at the time. “And everyone – vinnie vincent and all the others – that [has] played with KISS It is part of this entire 45-year celebration. We are still seeing what we will do in the final program of KISS.”
McGhee went on to say that Frehley Y Criss both had been “told” about participating in some way. But she acknowledged that “it’s pretty hard. When people say, ‘Oh, you should bring Ace Y Pedro up.’ How do you do that when you have two werecats and two spacemen? So you say, ‘Okay. You do not make up and you make up. and then they [Ace and Peter] say, ‘Well, that was me make-up.’ I don’t know. So it’s very difficult to do, but we’ll figure it out because they’re a big part of the heritage of KISS. and are recognized by Gene Y Pablo and everyone in this room as charter members… So. it is important for you [and] it is important to us. It’s just a matter of balance and we can get it to where it works for everyone and everyone has fun.”
In 2018, Frehley saying VintageRock.com that “the only way” he would “seriously consider” participating in “End of the road” is “if I got my makeup back, my wardrobe and my character, which I designed.” He added that currently KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer “He’s not a bad guitarist, but he basically mimics everything I wrote and tries to mimic my personality. He’s been doing it for 15 years,” he said. “But the reality is that I’m the original guy. And no one can copy my guitar playing.”
When asked if he would still consider participating in the tour if Criss was not involved Ace said, “I think it would be great if Pedro He was involved. Obviously, at this point in his life, he couldn’t do a two-hour show. But I can see if we solved a situation where Pedro came out at the end and did three or four songs, sang ‘bet’made ‘black diamond’ and a couple of others, I think it would be fun.”
Before the “End of the road” throw, stanley Y Simmons weren’t too excited about the prospect of an onstage collaboration with vinnie vincent. “Now Vinniethat is an exception, and for many reasons,” stanley saying guitar world. “I would say that’s not someone I want to celebrate.”
Simmons also intervened, explaining that “it is worth stating that Vinnie he has sued the band and lost 14 times. I am not here to launch any slander. He is a talented guy. That’s why he was in the band. But would it be up to him to get on stage and do something? Never. … Can he come to the shows? Of course! anyone can But on stage? Never.”
